Zine: How I Spent Six Years of My Life in the Underground and Finally... Found Myself... I Think is a book compiling all 8 issues of the zine Pagan's Head. Written by Pagan Kennedy, the softcover book was published in 1995 by St. Martin's Griffin. The book presents each complete zine in its original format, with new essays by Kennedy introducing each issue.

In the essays, Kennedy discussed how the "Pagan" presented in the zine was a cartoonish persona reflecting one part of her personality. The essays presented a between-issue biography of Kennedy's life, including her efforts to be professionally published or to write a novel, her interactions with friends and housemates, her father succumbing to lung cancer, and how she was able to turn her zines into a book.

Excerpt

"For six years, I published a magazine all about myself. In it, I documented everything from my dreadlock hair-care tips to the antics of my roommate's pet pig to my travails as a struggling fiction writer. ... I suppose I did it because I was shy, frustrated, and fucked up. But, really, I remember those years as mostly happy, suffused with the candy-colored glow of a Saturday morning cartoon. A time when all that mattered was adventure. A time when art could still save my life." (from Prologue)
