This Is Important (1980-1997) was a literary zine edited and published by the poet F. A. Nettelbeck.

Measuring 2.75" x 4.25" and printed offset, it was actually a single sheet of paper folded into an 8-page pamphlet, intentionally parodying a religious tract. Meant to be printed in large numbers and distributed free (in laundramats, coffee shops, theatres, bars, restrooms, etc. etc.), copies of the zine made their way all over the world and were eagerly collected and read by thousands of people. Some of the writers published in its 17 issue run were: William S. Burroughs, Robin Holcomb, John Giorno, John M. Bennett, Jack Micheline, Wanda Coleman, Allen Ginsberg, Anselm Hollo, and Todd Moore, et al.
