The Fractal was a small press publication edited by David Gardner and Sean Newborn.
The Fractal was published in Fairfax, Virginia, U.S.A. in the 1990s. It was subtitled, "Journal of Science Fiction and Fantasy", and seven issues appeared. The first issue was edited by David Gardner, and was released in Fall 1993. Issue 2, also edited by Gardner, followed in Spring 1994. Sean newborn became editor with #3 in Fall 1994, and continued as editor for #4 in Spring 1995, #5 in Spring-Summer 1996, #6 in Fall-Winter 1996 and #7 in Summer 1997.
The Poetry Editor was Malia Miller; the Fantasy Editor was Jeanette Snyder; and the Science Fiction Editor was Jessica Darago.
The art work for the covers was done by Margaret C. Muller (#1), Nybor (#2), Karla Miller (#3), and Sophia Kelly-Shultz (#4). James Zimmerman and Walt Simonson (#5), James Zimmerman (#6).
