The Alchemist was a science fiction fanzine published by Chuck Hanson in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A.
Five issues of The Alchemist appeared in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
Cover art work was by Hannes Bok for the Summer 1940 issue, Vol. 1 No. 3. His illustrations also appeared in the December 1940 (#4) issue and the February 1941 (#5) issue.
Also included in the February 1941 issue is "A Visit with Margaret Brundage" by Forrest Ackerman (Voice of the Imagi-Nation); Margaret Brundage was the illustrator of many Weird Tales magazine covers.
Written contributions included James Daugherty, Myrtle Douglas, John B. Michel (Tittering Tales of Terror), R. Lowndes, Art Widner (FanFare), and Harry Warner, Jr. (Spaceways).
