Slander

Slander, formerly Slant, is another awesome zine from the 1990s written by Mimi Nguyen. This zine was her perzine and focused on issues of gender, race, privilege, class, and the intersections of these issues within a punk rock context. Whip smart and incisive, Mimi's writing is possibly some of the best to come out of the zine scene.

After leaving the zine world, Mimi earned her PhD and published numerous articles about technology and culture. She was a regular columnist for Punk Planet and archives of her writing and current information can be found at www.worsethanqueer.com. She co-edited a book published in April 2007 called Alien Encounters: Popular Culture in Asian America.
