Shangri L'Affaires is the official organ of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society.

Published in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A., Shangri L'Affaires is a long running zine with a number of editors at different times in its history. It is regarded as a focal point fanzine around which fandom could gather.

The first issue appeared in March 1940 and was published by Forrest J. Ackerman and Walt Daugherty. Throughout 1941 it was a split zine and was alternately backed with The Damn Thing, Polaris and Voice of the Imagi-Nation. Other editors in the 1940s were Arthur L. Joquel (FMZ Digest, Specula, Sun Trails) (1942-1943, 1944), Phil Bronson (The Fantasite, Scienti-Comics) (1943), Charles Burbee (1944-1947), Gerald Hewett (1945), Arthur Joquel (1946), Charles Burbee (1946-1947), Dale Hart (1948), Evelyn Leipiar (1949), E.E. Evans (Nova) (1949) and Len Moffatt (1949).

In the 1950s, it was edited by Freddie Hershey (1950), Rory Faulkner and Fred Hershey (1951), Rick Sneary (1951), Dave Ossman and Bill Mosleigh (1953), Djinn Faine (1958-1959) and Al Lewis (1959).

In the 1960's, the editors were John Trimble and Bjo Trimble (1960-1961), Fred Patten (1961), Al Lewis and Ron Ellik (1962), Steve Tolliver (1963), Redd Boggs (The Lovecraftsman, Sky Hook) (1963-1964), Ted Johnstone (David McDaniel) (1965), Ken Rudolph (1968), Charles Lee Jackson (1987).

Contributions included a column by Richard Bergeron (Warhoon) and articles by Dirce Archer, Len Atkins, Len Bailes, Ron Bennett (Ploy, Skyrack), Ruth Berman (later editor of SH - sf Fanthology), John Berry (Pot Pourri, The Damned Patrol), William Blackbeard, Robert Bloch, Ray Bradbury (Futuria Fantasia), Rich Brown, Ted Carnell (Novae Terrae), Terry Carr (Innuendo), William Crawford, Walt Dougherty, Morris Scott Dollins (Science-Fiction Collector), Ron Ellik has the column "Squirrel Cage", E. Everett Evans, Djinn Faine, Rory Faulkner, Joe Fortier (Starlight), Al HaLevy, Jack Harness, Dale Hart (Ichor), Larry Janifer, Ted Johnstone, David H. Keller, Henry Kuttner, Francis T. Laney (The Acolyte), Fritz Leiber, Al Lewis, Hal Lynch, William Nolan (Rhodomagnetic Digest), Alexei Panshin, Fred Patten, Alva Rogers, Edward E. Smith, Rick Sneary, Roy Tackett, Steve Tolliver, Bjo Trimble (Melange) and John Trimble, Bob Tucker (Le Zombie), Tetsu Yanto, and T. Bruce Yerke (The Damn Thing).

Contributions of art work came from Poul Anderson, Richard Bergeron, Vaughn Bode, Tom Gould, Tim Kirk and Bill Rotsler. Issue #41 featured a close look at the art of Morris Scott Dollens by Bjo Trimble.

Along with Atres Artes, Black Flames, Chanticleer, Guteto, Ichor, Le Zombie, Lethe, Nova, and Voice of the Imagi-Nation, Shangri L'Affaires was included in the anthology fanzine Pacificon Combozine for the 1946 Pacificon Fourth World Science-Fiction Convention.
