Originally started as a compilation of recipes submitted to [[Soy Not Oi]], the zine's focus is on simple recipes for vegan comfort food.  In addition to recipes, death metal song suggestions and rants on the benefits of a vegan lifestyle add a flavor of anarchy to the heavily illustrated zine.

A book with selections from three issues of ''Please Don't Feed the Bears'', along with the addition of new material, was published in 2007 by [[Microcosm Publishing]] (Portland, ISBN 097705571X).
