New Philistine was a zine published by Karl Wenclas, focusing on literary politics and gossip. It was noted for its strongly anti-establishment views. Many prominent writers and editors of the day were paying subscribers of the zine.

NP first received mainstream media attention with a write-up in the New York Daily News August 9, 1993.

Karl Wenclas is also the publisher of Zine Beat and founder of the Underground Literary Alliance.
