Nathan Wade Carter is a poet, musician and artist living in Portland, Oregon. He writes and performs music under the name Purrbot.

He writes and performs music under the name Purrbot. He has released six full-length albums, and has played shows across the globe. He has shared bills with Little Wings, Dan Deacon, Ariel Pink, Real Live Tigers, Casiotone For The Painfully Alone, and many other talented folks.

He studied Fine Art/Printmaking at The University of Montana. He has self-published countless zines of drawings and writing, and has been publishing his mail zine Will You Marry Me _____? since 2007. Five of his sketchbooks are a part of the Brooklyn Art Library’s permanent collection as a part of The Sketchbook Project through the Art House Co-op, and have toured the United States with their Mobile Library. He taught his class Shut Up & Sketchbook—an introduction to unconventional sketchbooking—at the Attic Institute.

He is currently writing a new album, working on paintings for a solo art show, and compiling a chapbook of his poems.

He has tabled at the Portland Zine Symposium 2007, '08, '10-'12, as well as the San Francisco Alternative Press Expo 2007 & '09. He has participated in The Sketchbook Project 2011, '12, Limited Edition. He is currently participating in The Sketchbook Project 2013.
