Marcus Campbell, a London book dealer first started the fair in 1993 and since then it as grown in popularity and now uses the ICA, Insitute of Contemporary Art in London as a venue. There are books by artists from South Korea, Japan, Russia, Denmark, Germany, and Britain. The fair seeks not only to promote the book as an art form but to educate collectors in the many shapes and forms it can take. The influence of the zine ethic is prominient as the publications encompass drawing, painting, print-making, sculpture, photography, graphic design ir electronic arts. The books are not a book about art, but are original works artistic ideas.

A programme of films, talks and exhibitor's events accompany the fair.
