Jamming was a punk fanzine, edited by Tony Fletcher, which eventually became a reasonably successful mainstream music magazine.

Initially inspired by fandom of The Jam, the first zine by the schoolboy Fletcher was called In the City, before another zine of that name, forced a name change and rebrand at the end of 1977. The story f the zine is told in some detail in Fletcher's entertaining memoir "Boy About Town", which is informative both about his experience of the late 70s Punk and Mod scenes, but also the logistics of fanzine publication and distribution.
