Bluestockings Books is a bookstore, fair trade cafe, and activist center located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NY. The store is run by over 40 people who volunteer their time on a weekly basis. Bluestockings currently has over 4,000 titles. In addition to books, the store carries zines, DVDs, menstrual products, calendars, journals, posters, patches, pins, and Zapatista products.

Bluestockings hosts events almost every night. Events include political speakers, book tours, slideshow presentations, open mic nights, and much more! Several clubs meet there as well. Clubs include the feminist book club, the radical teachers' book club, and the dyke knitting circle.

Zine Readings

Bluestockings hosts zine readings about four times a year. The last reading took place on March 23, 2007, and featured 10 different zinesters. The next reading is scheduled to take place in June.
