Opinionated and outspoken, Asha was a very active participant in the ongoing battles and discussions in alt.zines before it imploded. At that time, she also wrote and published the zine Reddog Review then indefinitely suspended the title in 2003. Asha was the driving force behind the creation of Ash Canyon Review and the website for Ash Canyon Poets, a long standing critique group in Carson City, Nevada. However, due to clashing personalities and conflicts of opinion, this publication was discontinued after only two issues. Their website is also defunct. Around that time she also launched a zine and website called Driftwork with an anything goes format more to her liking. The first (and last) issue came out in the summer of 2006.

At that time she was also very active in the passionate Usenet discussions and battles on alt.zines. In the '70s Asha was assistant editor and writer for the Brijbasi Spirit, the journal for a yoga community in which she was then residing. She and the rest of the press group left abruptly when the society's political climate became life threatening. She then founded SkyRiver Press, a letterpress operation. These days SkyRiver Press is digital although currently she is more interested in submitting her work to outside publications though she is not above arranging an event for an opportunity to read. Her poetry has appeared in various journals, zines, and newspapers over the years. She resides in Nevada but spends about half the year traveling.

Asha Anderson's stories and poems have appeared various other publications including Whirligig, Byline Magazine, Westwind Review, Skidrow Penthouse, Sein und Werden, Poetry Motel and Brijibasi Spirit.

In the mid-1980s, Anderson founded SkyRiver Press which was, in the beginning, a half ton Challenge letterpress and two table top letterpresses. She later sold the letterpresses and SkyRiver Press became digital. Under its imprint she published selections from her poems and stories in her zines Reddog Review, Driftwork and Ghostwriter. At that time she was also very active in the passionate Usenet discussions and battles on alt.zines. As SkyRiver Press, Asha also collaborated with Michael Barth/Bathtub Productions to produce various interdisciplinary events showcasing a wide range of artists including musicians, poets, actors, storytellers, dancers and mimes.

When alt.zines imploded Asha, along with many others in alt.zines, moved on to other venues. Her two main blogs are Language Barrier, an ongoing narrative from wherever on whatever, and Anna Sadhorse for her poems. Her photos are available on flickr at ashabot. She also reads at open mic venues whenever possible, whether in or out of the country.
