The alt.zines DMZ — alt.zines demilitarized zone, the unofficial web counterpart to the newsgroup alt.zines — was set up by alt.zines regulars Jeff Chapman, Kris Kane, Dan Rhatigan, Josh Saitz (calling themselves the Zine Syndicate). The aim was to archive occasional discussions from the newsgroup outside of the ongoing fray of the group itself, and to gather and publish a variety of useful information for zine publishers, such as tips and tricks, lists of places that reviewed zines, and mailing addresses and other contact info for the zine publishers who frequented the group. (This area of the site, however, was removed once everyone's email addresses started to attract too much spam.)
