A Gentrification Reader was a socio-political zine from New Orleans. It was written by Skot (who previously wrote Public Enema) of Cresent Wrench books in 1997. It contained articles from other publications on gentrification that has occurred and is occurring in various cities, including New York, New Orleans, Portland, Chicago, and London. It has articles on property values, squatting, Portland, OR, Chicago, San Francisco, Manhattan, Memphis, stories and comics by Seth Toboccman. It also had articles by Skot on the history of the Faubourg Treme neighborhood, America’s oldest black neighborhood and the construction of the I-10 elevated expressway that destroyed it which occurred in New Orleans. He also talks about the demolition of the St. Thomas Housing Project, one of the oldest in the city of New Orleans.
