Since February 2013, Angi Brzycki was typing love letters, making a hundred copies of each and anonymously inserting them on Wednesdays in the SF Weekly, a free alternative weekly newspaper in San Francisco, California. The motivation to do this was in a sense to bring love back. Brzycki wanted to set up an intimate experience for a stranger. Inserting the letters in the paper was an easy and effective way of getting them out in the city, giving anyone who picked up the SF Weekly a chance to discover a letter. The artist did not give any indication of who wrote the letter or what it was intended for. Her objective was for a viewer to have their own individual experience without interference or self-promotion.
